Damage Control was the the company that became Strymon who are known for their high end pedals. Before Strymon they brought out a series of valve powered pedals which were critically acclaimed and are now discontinued. The Womanizer is a pre amp/distortion pedal which can be used as a recording pre amp, into the power amp of a guitar amp or just as a distortion pedal in front of an amp. It operates at full voltage to get the proper response from the 2 ax7 valves. It has 2 sets of boost and cut eq controls, before and after the valves, drive control, output level, and a built in opto compressor. There are two outputs, one for straight into an amp, and one speaker simulated for recording. It is highly versatile and a wide range of tones can be achieved, the clean and lightly overdriven speaker sim sounds are exceptional which is where a lot of valve pre amps fail.
