Not only are you surrounded by beautiful upholstery and furniture but you can be in the outside lane of a motorway confidently cruising with the same speed and control that you are used to in your car. Urban Campers are built to the highest standard and specification having been refined and improved over the 2 years of production. So often camper vans are bought for around £6000 but still require a significant amount of work to make them really enjoyable vehicles. By the time the engine has been replaced and the paintwork sorted out a year has gone by and the van is still in need of more repairs, is thirsty and seen better days. The Customer Decides The look of every Urban Camper is different, all designed by their owners, usually after a lot of thought and hard decision taking using of course our experience and previous work to guide them. Urban Campers are highly customisable starting with a choice of seating allowing between 4 and 7 people to be seated with seat belts. There are several ranges of fabrics to be chosen from to cover the seats and cushions including cloths, faux leathers, and vinyls of all colours. The exterior paintwork can be made to suit any taste as can the flooring, side linings and curtains. The result is always an individual camper that can be shaped to stand out or fit in. The Engine For genuine long range and long term comfort a modern 2.0 Litre 115 BHP VW petrol engine has been fitted which is powered by both petrol and 52p per litre LPG. The performance of this engine makes driving enjoyable and keeps travel times to minimum. This van, running on LPG, will drive 1000 miles at 75mph for little over £100. Our engine installation has been honed over many years giving great reliability and ease of maintenance due to the high quality parts and engineering we use. Power steering When you are not in holiday mode but need to use the van for running around, commuting or ferrying friends and family the power steering and central locking are very useful features. They both make the camper feel very modern and easy to use. The driving position is high and has great visibility. Bodywork The process of converting this Urban Camper from its previous life begins with the entire van being stripped of all its body parts and all new body panels being fitted. By doing this we ensure the paint will stay looking fantastic for as long as possible. Our dedicated body worker knows how to make them shine. The panels are then painted with a zinc primer before high quality paint is applied to the customers specification. The underside of the vehicle is sand blasted, primed, painted, under-sealed and all the cavities are sprayed with wax to prevent water ingress. Wheels are painted or powder coated to suit the look and the outside can be styled for street or chic. Kitchen and LPG The kitchen unit contains a new 3 way fridge, twin hob Smev cooker and storage. The gas supplied to the cooker and fridge is from a 15L LPG tank mounted below the floor. It can be filled for less than £7 and stores enough gas for weeks of use. There are no gas bottles to change and no space wasted! The gas also powers the heating system which is very handy for people returning from outdoor exhaustions or camping out of season. Mechanics As standard all of the mechanics are stripped off the vehicle and subjected to a full overhaul. All new parts are fitted where possible and otherwise new bushes and seals are fitted. Some parts we even have custom made now as they aren't available new but we know they need replacing for guaranteed performance over many years. The result of all this work is a silky smooth drive that rides the bumps without any squeaks or knocks, just pure driving enjoyment. Furniture All the furniture is made in house by us using good quality plywood.. It is sturdy and hard wearing, easy to clean and very accessible. A range of finishes are available from plain wood, Formica or painted. There is a choice of furniture to best suits your needs to improve storage or give more sleeping space downstairs. Electrical The electrical system is also very highly specified. There is a full 12v leisure battery system that powers the interior lights, stereo, heater, fridge and charging sockets (1 normal & 1 USB). The leisure battery charges automatically. A 240V supply can be hooked up to the van via an external socket powering a double socket inside and the fridge if required. The stereo has a front mounted auxiliary input to connect devices to giving access to DAB radio, podcasts, music, audio books and other entertainment available on the internet. There is a Thatcham 2 immobiliser fitted and a GPS tracking device can be fitted if required. We also fit reversing cameras and voltmeters as standard. Pop Top Roof The pop top design is our own as well proven over many years. It is a fibre-glass construction beautifully finished with high performance canvas, soft lining and easy to elevate gas springs. This roof accommodates up to 2 adults in comfort. The canvas has three windows in it all of which open and have mosquito nets inside. Warranty The Urban Camper is supplied with a one year warranty on the engine, gearbox, LPG system and elevating roof.
