This event is part of this year's London Film Festival and is completely SOLD OUT. "La La Land" is a romantic musical from director Damien Chazelle (director of the oscar-winning Whiplash) and stars Oscar-nominated actors Ryan Gosling (as you've never seen him before) and Emma Stone. Together, they make great music, and Stone and Gosling are a sure-footed pair (they dance more than they sing), with their lived-in and natural chemistry. The film also features oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons from "Whiplash". The plot follows a musician and aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. The film's title is a reference to both a nickname for the city of Los Angeles (lovingly filmed) as well as a euphemism for a state of being out of touch with reality. Aspiring actress Mia (Stone)serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions while dedicated jazz musician Sebastian (Gosling) plays in dingy bars in order to scrape by. The two meet and fall in love, but, as success mounts, the dreams they worked so hard to maintain threaten to rip them apart.
