Join the stars on the red carpet at the Opening Night Gala of the 60th Anniversary London Film Festival on Wednesday the 5th of October at 7.00pm in the Odeon Leicester Square. I can no longer attend and so have 2 tickets to this exclusive (and, of course, sold out) event for only £48 each. This will be the European Premiere of award winning director Amma Asante's film "A United Kingdom" starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike. The Golden Globe nominated leads will be attending, along with the director and other major entertainment industry figures/celebs etc. who are invited to such events. The film is about the true story of the king (David Oyelowo) of a royal South African family who falls in love with a white woman (played by Rosamund Pike) from London in the late 1940s in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments. A United Kingdom is an intriguing, utterly compelling and engrossing watch from the off. It’s key strength is the immense attention to detail in terms of its production design e.g. the tea parties and formal suits of english colonials in sweltering heat! Another asset is its two leads and solid acting support from the likes of Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Davenport.
