Maybe you could be my flatmate(s)? in London, Essex for sale
I have a fantastic flat to share with a lovely person (or perhaps a couple...?) 1. About the Flat 2. About the Room 3. About Me 4. About You 1. About the Flat: The flat is in a new-ish low rise apartment block in Zone 2, just outside the congestion zone, with a balcony (offering not-so-sweeping views) and off road parking. There is one bathroom and a separate WC (as is typical of these kinds of flats). It has a separate kitchen and a bright dining room / lounge. The kitchen is compact, but light and sunny. There is a gas stove, a microwave and a full size fridge/freezer. The lounge/dining room looks out on the balcony and is great for reading on the sofa or carving pumpkins/ building whatever you build. It's also perfect for entertaining - I have a large dining table for dinner with friends. I don’t have a TV and have enjoyed a TV free life for many years, but I can easily run a line from the TV socket to your room (TV license would be up to you). I am the only other person in the flat. This is not a massive flat-share, and I have not converted the lounge into another bedroom to shove more people in! I'll be honest with you... the flat has seen better days, decoratively speaking. It's a new purchase for me and I'm gradually buying and acquiring furniture to make it perfect but for the moment it might look more Granny Chic than City Slick. The flat is approx 10 minutes walking from Mile End Underground Station (with its crazy blend of trendiness and Cockney), and Westferry / Langdon Park DLR stations, and a further 15 minutes walk to Limehouse DLR. There are a ton of buses nearby. And there are plenty of amenities nearby. Although it's in a block, it's a well-established block with very little noise. And, in this most urban of settings, it's a very short walk to the Limehouse Cut, taking you along the peaceful canals of East London. Isn't London strange sometimes? 2. About the Room: The room is a big double (13. 7x12 (4. 13x3. 65m - for metric fans)), and overlooks the garden. It is currently sparsely furnished, although that is flexible if you have designer goods or a great-aunt's wardrobe that you can't bear to get rid of. The WC and bathroom are shared, but handily separated so that there won't be a queue. 3. About me: I've been in London 11 years now (yikes) and unfortunately these days might be feeling mid-30s rather than 21… Another reason for that is that I am actually, uh, mid-30s. I've spent all of this time living with other people in various spots around London. About me: Michelle. Professional, works very long hours as a management consultant. Loves - films (B-Movie, art house, classics, etc); literature; Canada (where I'm from); theatre; opera; pretty much all music; playing in the parks in London; the outdoors; orang-utans; camping; trees; walking; wine; good food; nights out exploring London; days out exploring London; or sitting in with a book, a blanket, and a cup of tea, or talking rubbish with good friends. My ideal weekend would probably include walking around quaint villages, sampling good beer at a local pub, or going to a strange British festival (gurning, anyone?). About You: I am hoping to find someone (:or a couple...?) - whose interests complement my own; - who works hard (and thus won't be coming back late & loud on a school night); - who won't mind the occasional troop of muddy walkers, or Canadians, or walking Canadians, hanging around in the lounge; - who (occasionally) likes getting rather drunk; - who doesn't mind sometimes being very ridiculous; - who knows things that I don't; - and who can have good conversations on anything and everything, whether talking out of their @sses or not. If this sounds like you, or if you are intrigued, drop me an email. SEND AS MUCH DETAIL AS POSSIBLE so that I can start to get to know you. I've put in a lot of effort to making this ad as realistic a picture of me as possible, and I'd appreciate it if you returned the favour. Once you've gotten in touch, and you sound cool, I'll arrange to meet up over drinks (tea or G&T) and to show you the place. I really look forward to meeting you!
