Chest of Drawers / Sideboard G Plan, Teak, Retro, 1970s This is a chest of 8 graduated drawers made by the G Plan Co in the 1970s. The chest is veneered in an orange toned figured teak with all edges finished in solid teak of a darker tone. The drawers are dovetail constructed with solid mahogany linings, the long sculpted handles are in solid teak. The drawer fronts are veneered in book matched leaves with the grain laid vertically to create a striking grain pattern. The bottom rail of the chest is curved and the whole cabinet is supported on a recessed teak plinth. The drawers all operate smoothly and there is no excessive wear to the runners.
