ICF Eames chair EA 117 in London, Essex for sale

ICF Eames chair EA 117 ICF was one of the four companies licenced to manufacture Eames furniture (until 1994). This specimen has a teal blue seat, slightly velvety. It shows signs of age, but is not worn through anywhere. The aluminium has a nice patina but could easily be repolished, if one wanted this. Why so cheap? The top of the tilting mechanism had broken off and I had it welded together again. That whole mechanism could be replaced with the normal fixed base. The aluminium parts of the chair (ribs, armrests and the star base) are all fine. The star base alone is worth £100 at least. This star base was designed to have wheels. Beware of 4 star units with wheels - they have been retrofitted and are highly unstable. Thanks for looking! Pickup only
